I am very excited to begin a new year of LSMC.
The very first meeting of the year is this Sunday. It will start at 2:00 and end at 3:30. Everyone is welcome, so if anyone knows a friend or acquaintance that would like to join, invite them; the more the merrier!
We will be working on AMC 8 (for 6th & 7th graders), and the 8th graders may opt to practice their AMC 8 or 10.
Hope to see you there!
UPDATE: We will have classes on the first and third Sunday of every month. Winston Wright and I will alternate teaching for each meeting.
Our classes for the new year will begin on October 13. This will essentially be a make-up for tomorrow’s class. We will NOT have class tomorrow, on Sunday, because of Salmon Days. After the make-up class on the 13th, we will continue with the original schedule (first and third Sundays) from then on.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask (comment or email me).
Welcome to Lake Sammamish Math Circle!
I am very excited to begin a new year of math, critical thinking, and problem solving.
We are starting a new system this year. Due to busy schedules, meetings will occur twice a month; the first and third Sundays of each month.
This year, we will be focusing on Math Counts and the AMC 8 (and the 10 for some of you as well).
If you are interested in coming to our meetings, please give a quick reply below, so we can take a poll of interest level.
It looks like we have a conflict with the two instructors’ s schedule so there will be no party. Next week is Memorial Day long weekend so not good for party either.
I’d like to poll to see how many people would like to have an end of year party. Basically do some fun math games, have some food and drink so let kids have a good unwinding after a stressful school and math year. And do you prefer right after the end of this school year? We are looking forward to hearing your opinion.
This Sunday we don’t have math club session. We will have a end of year party on 5/19 and hope everyone can come and have some fun. We can do some collegebowl game if you are interested. Details will be posted later.
tomorrow, we will go over the 6th grade Blaine individual test as a summary session. If you have your own Blaine test copy, great. Bring that. If not, I will print out some copies for you.
The week after tomorrow will be our last meeting, and we will have a party! There will be a Google Doc for everyone to sign up to bring food/drinks. (If you bring something, make sure it is enough for everyone.)
Since Blaine was today, there won’t be a meeting tomorrow. Enjoy the week off!
